About DSI

A software company
with plant experience.

DSI is a Software and Systems Engineering company based in Syracuse, New York. We work with manufacturing and life sciences teams on the software, controls, and data behind their operations.

Our work brings application development together with an understanding of the systems running the plant—from operator records and production schedules to automation and operational data.

Our story

It started with
a paper logbook.

DSI began with a straightforward idea: replace paper logbooks. That idea became eForms, a way for operations teams to collect information through electronic forms.

The useful part went beyond putting a form on a screen. By connecting manual entries with information from plant systems, eForms could bring operator input and automated data into the same operational record.

That work grew into a broader set of products and engineering services. Today, DSI develops software for production planning, electronic records, plant data review, and customer conversations, alongside custom applications and systems integration.

We develop our own software and work on the systems our customers already use. That combination brings software development and plant engineering into the same project conversation.

SchedDSI, eForms, Eyesight, and SnapCRM address different parts of the work: planning production, collecting records, reviewing plant information, and handling customer interactions. Each product has its own purpose and can be considered around the needs of your team.

Our product suite

Engineering for your systems

Some projects call for a custom application or a connection between existing systems. Our services span web and Windows development, industrial automation, operational data, and integration with controls, databases, and other applications.

Our engineering services

From the first requirements
to everyday use.

The work starts with the operation: who uses the system, where its information comes from, and what needs to happen next. These details help establish what belongs in configuration, what needs development, and where integration is required.

DSI’s engineering work extends into implementation, commissioning, testing, and ongoing support. For life sciences projects, that can include support for validation activities within the agreed scope.

Whether you are introducing a new application or working with an established installation, the starting point is the same: understanding the system and the people who depend on it.
