COVID-19 - One Million Cases a Week

July 8, 2020 - with over 60,000 COVID-19 cases reported in the United States yesterday, the United States will soon get to 1 Million cases a week in the next few weeks if nothing is done to stop the spread of the disease.

By looking at the graph below, it is clear to see that the death rate follows the cases by 14 to 21 days (daily deaths are in orange below).  There were over 1000 deaths in the United States on July 7, 2020.  After several weeks of steady decline in the death rate, we may start to see an increase in the death rate now that the daily case count has been on the rise the last two weeks.

If the United States does not reverse this trend, by July 22nd, I am forecasting 100,000 cases a day.  If a 4% death rate follows those numbers 14 to 21 days later, we could see our total death count really accelerate.  US Citizens should take it upon themselves to help stop the spread of the disease.  It is my hope that the death rate falls off because the medical centers are better at treating advanced stages of the disease.

Please be careful and help stop the spread of COVID-19.  Wash your hands, social distance, and wear a mask........
